Goals of Sequoia Paralegal Association
A. To promote and educate the legal professional community in the benefits of employing paralegals.
B. To promote and supply continuing education for working paralegals.
C. To encourage information networking between paralegals.
D. To promote just compensation and recognition for paralegals relative to their position on the legal / professional team.
Annual Membership Dues (January 1 through December 31)
You must fall within one of the four categories listed below to be elibible for membership

A.
Voting Member: ($40.00)
Any person who, at the time of application and / or renewal for membership, is a practicing paralegal in the State of California, having that or an equivalent title as prescribed in California Business and Professions Code Section 6454, may become a voting member upon payment of annual dues. For the provisions of these bylaws, a practicing paralegal is defined by the provisions of California Business and Professions Code Section 6450
Voting members receive a one year subscription to Brief Encounters and Recap and all SPA/CAPA benefits
B.
Associate Member: ($25.00)
Any person who does not meet the qualifications for voting membership as defined by the California Business and Professions Code sections identified in subparagraph (a) above, which definition has been adopted by these Bylaws, may become an associate member upon the paymentof annual dues.
Associate members receive a one year subscription to Brief Encounters and Recap and all SPA/CAPA benefits.
C.
Student Member: ($17.00)
Any person who is enrolled in a formal paralegal course may become a student member upon payment of annual dues. Student members are inelligible to hold office, make motions, or vote.
Student members receive a one year subscripton to Brief Encounters and Recap and all SPA/CAPA benefits.
D.
Sustaining Member: ($60.00)
Any person, firm, organization or institution interested in supporting the purposes of the Association may become a sustaining member upon contributing to the Association may become a sustaining member upon contribution to the Association an amount to be determined annually by the Board of Supervisors
Sustaining members receive a one year subscription to Brief Encounters and Recap and all SPA/CAPA benefits.
